Aventinus, son of Hercules, is a legend of Roman mythology. The legacy of his reign has been debated for centuries.
Aventinus reigned from 854-817 BC and is buried on The Aventine, a hill in the City of Rome.
He was a king of the Aboriginal inhabitants of Rome and known for his socialist beliefs, transferring wealth from the noble Romans providing for the less fortunate, inadvertently inventing the concept of charitable giving.
