Case Studies


Pandora Jewellery

Pandora Jewellery is an Australian family-owned retailer of a necklaces, rings, customizable charm bracelets and other jewellery in Australia and New Zealand. The company was established in 2006 in Sydney.

The company appointed Aventine Equity Partners to assist with the strategic planning and execution of:

  1. Setting up the organisational and operational infrastructure to cope with hyper growth (+300% per annum),

  2. Establishing a formalised board and management team to govern the business

  3. Pursuing a sale of business following a period of sustained growth and profit improvement in the business.

Over a three-year period between 2006 and 2009 Pandora achieved significant revenue expansion in AUS/NZ, from $10m to $180m.

The Danish private equity group Axcel bought Pandora Jewellery AUS/NZ in 2010 securing significant wealth creation for the owners.


Mountcastle

Mountcastle is a wholesale school and corporate uniform supply business headquartered in Brisbane, Australia and majority owned by a public listed entity together with the Chief Executive Officer.

Aventine Equity Partners assisted the company with the strategic planning and execution of:

  1. Consolidation of Australia’s school uniform market,

  2. Deal negotiation and due diligence

  3. Sourcing of debt financing for the proposed acquisition

  4. Preparing the Company for a Initial public offering (IPO) on a publicly traded stock exchange (collectively the Consolidation Strategy).

The Consolidation Strategy will include multiple acquisitions or mergers with other companies or businesses. The first transaction in the Consolidation Strategy was completed in 2019.

Mountcastle’s return on investment was in excess of 20%. The acquisition created significant value uplift for the shareholders.


Nulon Racing Oil

Nulon Racing Oil is an Australian family owned manufacturer and supplier of automotive lubricants. The Company is established in 1985 in Sydney and privately owned.

The Company appointed Henrik Thorup, Managing Partner of Aventine Equity Partners, as an Advisory Board member to assist with the strategic planning and execution of:

  1. Developing an expansion plan in the Australian Automotive Market,

  2. Setting up the operational and legal infrastructure supporting growth and a potential divestment

  3. Pursuing a sale of business following a period of sustained growth and profit improvement in the business.

Nulon Racing Oil was sold to Fuchs Lubricants in May 2019. Fuchs is a German multinational manufacturer of lubricants, and related speciality products. The company's headquarters are at Mannheim, Baden-Württemberg, Germany and is public listed on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.

The shareholders of Nulon Racing Oil achieved significant value generation from their proceeds of the sale of Nulon.
